Project 01: Leonard Dome

In this trimester, we’ve been working in Leonard’s dome, it consisted in creating different figures with some pieces with the same measurements.

First, we were given a big wooden piece, of 40cmx40cm, we had to cut it in ten long pieces of 4cmx10cm. Then, we had to cut four squares. The first square has a measurement of 2.1cm of height and 2.4cm of length.

This square has to be repeated twice, it has to be the first and the last square of this measurements. The next two squares has to be also of the same measurements, this ones are smaller. They are 1.2cm tall and has 2.4cm of length.

Between this squares has to be a distance of 0.8cm the first square with the second one, 8.8cm between the second and the third one and 0.8cm between the lasts ones.

Once we had many pieces, we had to choose one figure out of nine. The figure that my group chose was the one with an hexagonal shape. It has many hexagons that were separated by little triangles. At first it was difficult to follow the patron but finally we did a good job.
